Huge IKEA Mirror Wall DIY

Hi Everyone! It's Marie and this is my first blog ever and I wanted to highlight one of my favorite things to do- decorate my house! I had this huge wall in my dining room and didn't know what to do with it plus my husband and I already painted the wall black so I wanted the light from our sliding doors to reflect into the kitchen and brighten up the room. I always envisioned a huge mirror in my house so I can check my outfit before leaving the door, but those are expensive!!! I made this one for just $180.

My home's color scheme is black, white and grey so this worked beautifully on my black wall. I love taking random trips to IKEA and kept passing these nissedal mirrors that to my surprise we about 25x25 inches and were only $19.99 each. I bought 9 of them and placed them with 2 inch gaps but if you choose to put them next to each other it is about 6ft x6ft mirror.

Warning: There's a lot of measuring but I made it easier on myself using painter's tape. I factored in the width of the mirror and where the holes are located compared to the top of the mirror. I started with my parallel vertical gaps and drew horizontal lines on them to make sure the spacing was right.

*I used a long strip of folded painter's tape to make a measuring strip with holes to mark my screws.

I also made a grid of painter's tape so I can use my tape strip to make more holes.

**sorry about the blurriness but I marked the beginning and end of the mirror and where the screws go
Lol like our walls patch work? This room used to be our living room and we had the TV on this wall before.
I used yellow plastic ribbed anchors (the ones you use for pictures) and drilled in the two screws.
Then put the mirror in middle first and used it to make sure the 8 other mirrors line up.
Then tada! Your done! How do you like it?
Looks exactly like it did in my head. I hope you try this project. If you do please leave a comment and tell me how it went.

Have fun decorating,
Marie
